Evaluate a focused black-and-white workflow without disrupting a working studio setup.
A search for a Capture One alternative can mean two very different things: replacing a studio workflow or finding a different place to finish black-and-white photographs. Capture One documents tethered camera control for supported cameras. Monochrome Lab PRO should be evaluated as a focused monochrome editor, not assumed to replace tethering, capture sessions, or every part of a production pipeline.
The method
Step by step.
- List the parts of your current workflow that are essential: capture, file organization, color rendering, local edits, client review, and delivery. Separate capture requirements from monochrome finishing.
- Keep a working capture setup intact while testing. Use copies of photographs that represent your normal lighting and camera files.
