Export JPEG, PNG, TIFF, or original RAW
Match the file to the purpose—and check the result.
Professional output uses the native source and edit recipe, not simply a saved copy of the editor preview. Format, dimensions, color profile, and sharpening are separate delivery choices.
The method
Step by step.
- In Export, choose JPEG, PNG, TIFF, or Original RAW Copy. Use an Export Preset to set JPEG quality.
- Open Export Presets to choose a built-in or create a reusable delivery recipe. A preset can retain format, quality, color space, size, PPI, sharpening, filename, metadata, and destination behavior.
- For ordinary web sharing, use JPEG and an appropriate output size. Use PNG when a lossless raster is needed; use TIFF for a 16-bit rendered handoff.
- Review your Export Preset for output color space, PPI, resizing or upsampling, and output sharpening. sRGB is the default; choose Display P3 only for a workflow that expects it.
- Click Export, choose the destination, and wait for completion. For a selection, Export Selected uses the native high-bit background queue with progress and cancellation.
- Open the exported file and confirm dimensions, crop, border, orientation, and tonal appearance. Check metadata/profile requirements with the receiving workflow.

Watch for
A 16-bit TIFF from an 8-bit source does not recreate missing original information. PPI metadata alone does not add pixels.
