Troubleshooting and quick answers
Check the source, the view, and the intended output before changing the edit.
Many apparent editing problems are viewing or workflow problems. Isolate one variable at a time so that a temporary preview, disconnected source, or unexpected selection does not become a reason to rebuild an otherwise good edit.
The method
Step by step.
- Missing original: reconnect the storage and verify the file path. A Library thumbnail can remain cached after a drive disconnects. Use the missing-folder relink report and apply only unambiguous matches.
- Unresponsive or incomplete preview: allow loading to finish, try a known-good small raster, and check whether the issue is file-specific.
- Unexpected tonal change: check Signal Path, Color Response, Profile selection, enabled Tone Curve, masks, Finish, and synchronized or pasted edits. Compare with the original and inspect one stage at a time.
- Unexpected output size: check the retained crop, output canvas, Export Preset resize, and upsampling settings. Do not use the editor preview dimensions as your only reference.
- Feature missing: check for app updates and consult the relevant tool guide. Historic M1 and former yellow-filter M3 recipes still render through hidden compatibility engines, but those choices are not offered for new edits.
