Finish with Tone, Pop, Punch, and Spot Heal
Make the last adjustments serve the photograph.
Finish is the last creative check, not an obligation to add another effect. Tone, Pop, and Punch are separate controls. Evaluate each on its own so that you know which one actually improves the picture.
The method
Step by step.
- Open Finish after the larger tonal and local decisions are settled.
- Raise Tone modestly, compare, and return to zero if it does not help. Repeat independently with Pop and Punch.
- For an isolated small spot, activate Spot Heal and choose an appropriate Size. Click the defect rather than brushing broadly over textured areas.
- Inspect the repair at 100%. Option-click removes the last spot in this source; Clear Heal removes all heal corrections.
- Return to Fit. Check whether the finishing decisions still feel consistent with the light and subject.

The car demonstration uses Tone 15, Pop 20, and Punch 10. Compare each adjustment separately before keeping the combination.
Watch for
Do not use Spot Heal to conceal a problem you have not inspected. Repeating textures and hard edges can make a repair conspicuous.
