Build a multi-page layout

Turn individual photographs into a deliberate sequence.

Layouts brings photographs together into finished pages. Choose a canvas, assign a composition, and place photographs. Each page can carry its own design while the whole sequence remains one project.

The method

Step by step.

  1. Select photographs in Library, right-click, and choose Add to Layouts. You can also add the active photograph from Edit or use Choose Folder in the Layouts photo tray.
  2. Select a Canvas ratio and a Composition: Single, Diptych, Triptych, Grid, Portraits above, Portraits below, Stacked, Spread, or Freeform.
  3. Drag photographs into the composition. Fixed compositions retain their slots when margin and spacing change; Freeform allows independent placement and resizing.
  4. Click + beside the canvas to add a page. New pages begin with the first page’s canvas size. Select a page to customize it; drag page labels to reorder or right-click to delete.
  5. In Appearance, choose White or Black and adjust Margin. Spacing appears when the composition has gaps. Select a photograph for Image fit and Auto-crop white frame.
  6. Click Export JPEG at the bottom right. Choose the filename and destination. One page produces one JPEG; several pages produce numbered JPEGs without creating another folder.

Control reference.

Spread
One photograph continues across two pages.
Margin
The outside frame width.
Spacing
The gap between photographs in supported compositions.
Viewing background
Right-click the canvas surround to change viewing contrast; this is separate from the exported frame.

At your own pace

Try it.

Build a three-page story: one opening photograph, a paired detail page, and a quiet closing photograph. Reorder the pages and compare the rhythm.

Watch for

Auto-cropping a white frame can affect an intentionally pale edge. Inspect bright photographs. Layouts exports JPEG; use Print for separate print/PDF workflows.
